Parent/Caregiver Support
My work with parents/caregivers of adolescents is informed by a combination of my expertise and research in developmental psychology and experience in clinical practice with adolescents. I work with parents/caregivers of adolescents to support them in meeting the developmental needs of their child and understanding the "why" behind adolescent behavior. While adolescence is typically referred to as a difficult time for both parent/caregiver and child, it is an incredibly important time for development. Although an adolescent is "almost" an adult, their brains are still developing. Understanding adolescent development and the "why" behind adolescent behaviors (risk-taking, strong emotions, etc) can allow both the parent/caregiver and child to be successful in their relationship.
